Stockport Interchange and Viaduct Park Now Open: A Milestone Achievement

It was a historic moment for the town of Stockport as the new multi-million-pound Stockport Interchange and rooftop Viaduct Park officially opened their doors to the public. RED Systems Limited is proud to announce its significant role in the creation of this state-of-the-art transport hub, which is part of the ambitious £1 billion regeneration initiative aimed at revitalizing the town center.

A Testament to Collaboration and Innovation

In collaboration with our esteemed partners at Willmott Dixon and our specialist SFS division, RED Optimal, RED Systems Limited has contributed a comprehensive glazing and SFS dry envelope solution to this landmark project. Our team successfully installed 3,570 m2 of windows and curtain walling, featuring the advanced Metal Technology Ltd’s 5-35 hi+ glazing system and System 17 curtain walling.

Impact Beyond Construction

The Stockport Interchange project has not only transformed the architectural landscape of Stockport but also generated substantial social and economic benefits:

  • Employment Opportunities: The project created 160 new jobs, bolstering local employment.
  • Apprenticeships and Training: Over 800 weeks of apprenticeships and training have been provided, nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals.
  • Work Placements: 102 work placements have been offered, giving valuable industry exposure to participants.
  • Skills Programmes: The launch of three Building Lives Academy skills programmes, designed to support care-leavers, armed forces veterans, the long-term unemployed, and young people with special educational needs, underscores our commitment to community and inclusivity.
