Tea Break with the Team

Meet our fabulous Financial Controller Michelle! An essential part of Team RED, Michelle has taken on the role of Mental Health First Aider and is passionate about the wellbeing of all her colleagues…

How long you have worked at RED?

I’ve worked at Red since June 2015 initially as a subcontractor for an accountancy firm working onsite at Red Systems Ltd alongside the team on a part time basis.  This then resulted in me leaving accountancy in practice and moving across to industry-based accounting as a full time employee for Red in 2019.

Have you progressed in your career and what qualifications have you undertaken?

Yes, when I worked as a part time consultant this was firstly under the role of Finance Administrator, moving up to Finance Manager, and more recently into the role of Financial Controller. I am fully qualified MAAT, and have also taken on the Mental Health Qualification, I keep up to date with all current accounting legislation by ensuring my CPD hours are completed throughout the year and the company support this wholeheartedly.

Alongside being the company Mental Health first Aider, what other key tasks do you perform in addition to your day-to-day role?

My key focus is ensuring my team thrive in their individual roles within the department by implementing ongoing training plans, progression planning and PDR workshops. I have also recently become a member of the company’s Operations Board which is hugely rewarding.
