The finish line is in sight for the remarkable Hughes House scheme, a testament to the rejuvenation of a historic Liverpool city centre site. Built on the site of the former iconic TJ Hughes department store on London Road, the new 10-storey structure, developed for Equans UK & Ireland, features 258 sustainable apartments and a ground floor retail and commercial space.
RED Systems played a crucial role in the construction, installing over 5,000m² of Technal MX52 curtain walling with FY65 vent inserts. The curtain walling was meticulously designed to accommodate a striking 200mm projecting feature fin, adding an impressive visual element to the structure.
The project, undertaken by main contractor – Equans, aims to breathe new life into Liverpool’s city centre while preserving the historical significance of the site. Hughes House is a shining example of urban regeneration, combining modern living with sustainable design practices.
