Pontoon Reach – London

Overview

Pontoon Reach is an exciting new development from Redrow and London HousingAssociation, Peabody, located in the up and coming Royal Docks area.
The development includes a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

The new homes make up part of the Pontoon Reach development, which has created 295new homes, including 42 affordable rent and 53 shared ownership homes to be managed by Peabody.

The £125million complex is set around a landscaped communal garden, and each apartment benefits from its own terrace or balcony.

This was a fantastic project to be involved with. The redevelopment of the Royal Docks is transforming the area into an exciting new neighbourhood, with affordable housing & enhanced leisure facilities for the local community.

Design

This highly rewarding project was not without its challenges! The design included interesting elements including feature fins which required our design team to engage early, during the tender stage, and work closely with colleagues from Redrow in order to develop a cost effective and feasible solution.

In addition to this, balcony studs penetrated through our system, and again, a robust interface design was achieved to ensure a practical solution was achieved to meet the client’s budget and negate any potential cold bridging.
