Yeoman Academy

Project Overview

Located close to the town of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, the redevelopment of Yeoman Park Academy, is part of the Department of Education’s (DfE) ambitious schools rebuilding programme.

The highly commended academy, offers students a ‘truly inspiring environment for learning, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)’.

The Challenge

This landmark education scheme presented a unique set of challenges for Team RED & our colleagues at BAM Midlands.

With limited initial specification & programme details, finding the most appropriate solution required a high level of collaborative input.

Our Solution

RED’s design team worked closely with colleagues at BAM, to engineer a bespoke solution.

We also liaised with our innovative supply chain partners at Technal to develop a cost-effective, performance-led specification, that hit all security, ventilation & thermal performance standards.

This was an ongoing process throughout the evolution of the build, which ultimately enabled RED to deliver a highly thermally efficient, sleek and effective outcome for both the client and the academy.

The Outcome

The result was a standout success, all delivered in seamless partnership with BAM Midlands.

The additional design input & innovative technical development, all helped to bring Yeoman Park Academy’s vision to life.

This state-of-the-art SEND school is among the first 50 completed under the DfE programme, adding 28 new places for local families.

RED’s contribution ensured the building met stringent performance criteria while supporting BAM’s delivery of a space that’s not just functional, but transformative.

The new, purpose-built facility now offers:

  • High-quality teaching spaces
  • A hydrotherapy pool, multi-use games area, & sensory gardens
  • A spacious hall for events, plus dedicated wings for each learner stage
Yeoman Academy They said...
