Market leading glazing and SFS specialists, RED Systems, have announced the launch of a new façade and design division, REDline Façades.
This strategic move enhances the company design capabilities to incorporate full façade design and aligns with the increased and changing design demands following the implementation of Building Safety Act Legislation in response to the Grenfell disaster.
REDline will provide specialist façade design services to the envelope sector which will include a fast and cost-effective Gateway 2 service to both main contractors and specialist façade companies.
Speaking about the new division, RED Systems Managing Director, Mike Green said:
“We felt this was an important, strategic move for us here at RED. We talk to our key clients and partners regularly and they were telling us that there is a lot of uncertainty about how to comply with the new BSA regulations. There are a lot of questions about how the Gateway 2 process works and how contractors can ensure they are meeting fundamental requirements.”
“Adding a specialist façade design arm to the group will allow us to continue to engage early, and support our clients through this vital step, by assisting them with every aspect of pre-construction design for the glazing, SFS and façade elements of their project.”
As the industry continues to grapple with the new regulations, firms are reporting delays as they struggle to comply with Gateway 2 requirements and satisfy pre-construction design approval before progressing to Gateway 3. This, in turn, is having a severe impact on project timelines, something REDline are hoping to change.
“Bringing REDline Façades into the group has allowed us to enhance our overall design capabilities and access a high-level of industry leading design expertise,” commented Mike.
“We look forward to helping more of our clients plan effectively, secure timely design approval and navigate the complexities of both Gateway’s 1 and 2 with a bit more hands-on support.”
